Clark G. Voorhees was an impressionist painter in New England around the turn of the 20th century. Hailing from New York City, he settled in Lyme, Connecticut where he began painting congregational churches. He eventually married a woman from Lenox, and happened upon the Church on the Hill, which he eventually painted.
The piece now is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.

That's beautiful. How did you find it? Once in Chicago I was shopping in a gift shop and happened upon a wood carving of the Church on the Hill. It was fun to see it there. Thanks for posting this.
