A summer participant in the life of the Monterey Church, Alan Bone, presented a Bible to Liz to bring to Church on the Hill. Dating from the late 19th century, it was a gift from Albert Lyman to his friend, William Derbyshire Curtis 2nd, upon his baptism at Church on the Hill. Curtis managed the Curtis Hotel after taking over from his father.
The Bible was found when a friend was cleaning out her mother's house.
Inside the front cover there was a lithograph, an image of Albert Lyman.
It's in the showcase in the narthex along with other historical items. Check it out next time you're in the meetinghouse.
